When the AMC and OLTL's cancellations were made official earlier this month, he sprung into action, starting consultations with his top daytime executive Steve Kent and DAYS co-creator/exec producer Ken Corday and Y&R co-creator/exec producer Bill Bell about which actors from the departing ABC shows would strengthen the talent roster on the two soaps.

Y&R + DAYS To Recruit Actors From AMC & OLTL

Here's a better idea. Why doesn't Sony recruit the two cancelled soaps?
ReplyDeleteI agree--I wish they would take over both canceled soaps. But failing that, I hope one of the shows will recruit Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew TOGETHER. That said, I have no problem with the names already mentioned. I just hope there are a lot more names coming--especially TK and AM. But first and foremost--Save these soaps!
ReplyDeleteI agree, save our soaps ~ don't take the cast!!
ReplyDeleteI have tried to watch Y&TR and DAYS before and simply could NOT get to the point where I cared. If Sony is going to save anything, please save AMC and OLTL with their entire casts!! Now THOSE stories I care about!!
ReplyDeleteThey should try saving the two soaps instead of picking over the casts and inserting them in Genoa City and Salem. I don't watch Y&R and Days is mostly a habit now since that was my first soap although I could picture Gina there.

ReplyDeleteSony doesn't want these shows any more than ABC. They are only trying to see if they can get any ratings boost by recruiting some of the more appealing stars. Interesting picks though. The only OLTL choice is someone who just returned to the show after her show was cancelled. I noticed with these recruits that they never go for the legacy performer of the show. Nobody openly recruited Zimmer after GL was cancelled and it looks like no one may recruit Lucci or Slezak once AMC and OLTL go off the air. You would think they would be considered the biggest draws.
