On Episode 1.22 of WE LOVE SOAPS TV, Damon L. Jacobs goes on location to the "Gays of Our Lives" weekend event in New York City on March 27, and interviews ALL THAT MATTERS (ALLES WAS ZÄHLT) writer Tom Chroust, who previously wrote for FORBIDDEN LOVE (VERBOTENE LIEBE). Chroust talks about his writing career, the differences between German and American television and his meeting with AS THE WORLD TURNS head writer Jean Passanante. FORBIDDEN LOVE stars Thore Schölermann and Jo Weil make a surprise cameo during the interview.

Another great interview. I'm also amazed that Mr. Chroust's able to do what he can without too many restrictions or 'notes' from TPTB.
ReplyDeleteListening to him, along with your previous interviews with Jo and Thore, shows how much more US daytime serials have to develop in regards to showing, writing and developing storylines that treat all of their fictional characters the same as everyone else.
Sad, isn't it.
Thanks for the interview, it's always interesting to hear Tom talk. It's just really too bad the interview focused on all the past stuff, and didn't ask anything about the last two years since he's been working for All That Matters. The work that he and his writing team have done on the storylines there has been absolutely incredible, and in my opinion far surpassing what was done on Forbidden Love.
