AS THE WORLD TURNS filmed on the grounds of The Tides at Charleston two weeks ago – the latest in a string of recent visits to the neighborhood by production companies. For a few afternoon hours, the senior living community was transformed into the fictional town of Oakdale, Ill., while a car accident scene involving two of the show’s principal characters was enacted and reenacted smack in the middle of Tides Lane.
On her upcoming book: "It will be out at Christmas. ... When the show was canceled I felt the need to give back to my fans and track the journey through Kim and Reva's lives. I am writing it with a woman who never watched the show, which is good. She comes from a different direction. ... She is a good sounding board."
On whether she's had a face lift: "I did. Well kind of. I am 56 now but when I was 40 I had the jowl thing taken care of. I didn't have to touch anything else and I wouldn't do anything to my eyes. I think they are the window to the soul."
Appeals Court Upholds TiVo's $300 Million Win Against Dish, EchoStar
TiVo stands to get at least $300 million from Dish Network and EchoStar -- and potentially even more -- after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Thursday denied the satellite operator's request to overturn a lower court ruling finding it in contempt of an order to disable DVRs that were found to infringe a key TiVo patent.

According to a Glee insider, Neil Patrick Harris will play Bryan Adam, a high school glee club nemesis of Will’s (Matthew Morrison) who resurfaces as a board member at William McKinley.
Series creator Marc Cherry, however, insists tabloid talk that the actress was fired because she wasn’t clicking with the cast is not true. “When I heard that stuff, I was stunned,” confesses Cherry. “We adore her. She is the sweetest gal in the world.”
