Nielsen Calls Elite Client Pow-Wow To Pitch Online Measurement Wares
Nielsen on Thursday contacted 75 of its clients ranging from top advertisers, agencies and media companies to ask them to an October 16 meeting to discuss how to proceed in a possible melding of TV and online audiences. Nielsen is hoping to thrash out myriad issues surrounding growing online viewing at the special confab. The company hopes to begin a process which could ultimately change the future of TV ratings and industry currency.

Hollywood kicks off Locals Only discount program
Hollywood resident and “Young and the Restless” star Kate Linder spoke during a Hollywood Chamber of Commerce press conference and said that the Locals Only Hollywood Offer is an opportunity for Angelenos who have yet to take a stroll down the Walk of Fame.

“Many of us do not take advantage of what’s in our backyard,” she said. “People save all year or even their whole lives to come to Hollywood and here we have it in our backyard and we’re not taking advantage of it.”

90210 puts star Jessica Lowndes on a tanning time-out
FOX411 has learned they've placed Jessica Lowndes on a tanning time-out. At least that's what her castmate AnnaLynne McCord was overheard chirping at a recent Hollywood event.

"AnnaLynne was telling a few people at an Emmy gift suite that producers have been giving everyone hell for their obsession with sun-kissed skin, and they've even banned Jessica from any tanning of any kind, whether it's from natural sunlight, tanning salon beds or a spray-on tan," says the spy. "AnnaLynne was just glad she wasn't targeted. She said she looks forward to her Fake Bake spray tan every time she gets it."

Brooks Brothers selling MAD MEN suits
The show's Emmy-winning costume director Janie Bryant is designing a limited edition run of MAD MEN-inspired suits for Brooks Brothers, which exclusively provides the suits seen on AMC's 1960s-set ad men series. There's only 250 total, so come Oct. 19 to one of the 10 participating locations.

New HAWAII FIVE-0 in development
CBS gave the project a pilot commitment on Thursday after a pitch from producers.

NBC cancels SOUTHLAND
Production on the John Wells-produced cop series is being shut down after six episodes.

Divas of Daytime to perform at St. George Theatre
Kassie DePaiva, Kathy Brier and Bobbie Eakes are playing the St. George Theatre on Saturday, October 10.

"The first time we did three-part harmony, I got cold chills," says DePaiva. "We try to pick songs that motivate, empower women."
