WTSP's David Leonard on the GUIDING LIGHT location shoot in Orlando: "Today I was on set at The Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. I am actually in a scene my self. The plot of the story is under raps. I can tell you I play a waiter. The day at Universal Studios started at 7:00 am. Marcy Rylan, who plays Lizzie Spaulding, gave me some insight into character development."
A year ago the show got a major stylistic make-over. Executive-producer Ellen Wheeler who also directed today's scenes, took the cameras off the tri-pod and the dolly and started to use hand held cameras.
"Thats how we can take the show on the road to places like Orlando, or anywhere," she said in between takes. "When you see a pool it's a real pool."
Elisabeth Harnois cast in pilot
Harnois (ex-Sarah, ALL MY CHILDREN) will play a first-year resident on the CBS pilo MIAMI TRAUMA.
Damian to direct Flicka 2
The 20th Century Fox feature film Flicka 2 will be directed by Michael Damian (ex-Danny, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS). Damian also wrote and directed Moondance Alexander, which, like Flicka 2, is also a horse-orientated movie.
"I didn't realize the show was broadcast there [in Holland]," he said. "And literally, about every 10 feet somebody would come up and say, Hey, Abe, what are you doing here, and they were just shocked. All the Dutch were amazed we were there. And it was great."
Twins double the fun on set of DAYS
Identical twins Ella and Anna Gietzen, 2½ years old, can't tell each other apart when they see themselves on TV. The Camarillo toddlers have appeared since January in five episodes of DAYS OF OUR LIVES (Allie Horton).
"To them it's just fun," said their mother, Leslie Gietzen, 35. "It's been a good experience."
On set, the girls are spoiled, lavished with attention from the crew and greeted with a lollipop each time by the casting agent, Gietzen said.
BBC cuts could be "painful"
Critics fear that the cuts could be so deep that shows such as DOCTOR WHO and EASTENDERS could see their budgets restricted.
