AS THE WORLD TURNS has won the award for outstanding Daily Drama at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in a ceremony being held right now at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. ALL MY CHILDREN was the other nominee in the Daily Drama category.
Jake Silbermann, Van Hansis and Tala Ashe from AS THE WORLD TURNS are among the celebrities at the event along with Barbara Walters, Cheyenne Jackson, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick and many others.
AS THE WORLD TURNS broke new ground in 2007 by establishing the first ongoing gay male relationship on daytime and having the gay male kiss on August 17th. The storyline has brought the show international attention buzz and was recently mentioned in TIME magazine, Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times.
