That's how CBS's "The Early Show" promoted their interview with "As The World Turns" veteran Colleen Zenk Penter which aired around 8:08am ET this morning. Colleen talked with Hannah Storm about being diagnosed with stage 2 oral cancer after thinking she had a canker sore for a long time and then being treated for a viral/fungal infection for a month. She had multiple surgeries. The first removed the bottom half of the left side of her tongue which was later reconstructed with tissue from the other side. In a follow up surgery, doctors in serted radioactive beads in her tongue (commonly used to treat those with prostate cancer).She's telling her story to spread the word that this type of cancer can be easily screened by your dentist. They played a clip of her on ATWT and they talked about how fans throught she had dental work or a stroke. It was hard for her to watch the clip. She now happily reports she is cancer free.
